Pricing strategy

Account for overhead and your target margin

Margin is calculated as profit ÷ selling price — not a markup on cost.

A transparent CNC quote, not a black box

Enter stock dimensions, a machine-hour estimate, setup, labor and overhead. FabCost Desk computes a budgetary estimate and quantity comparison directly in your browser. Unlike geometry-aware tools, it does not calculate toolpaths or analyze uploaded drawings.

Frequently asked questions

Does FabCost Desk upload my customer or price data?

No. The calculator does not upload quote inputs or use remote analytics. Draft settings are kept in your own browser's local storage. Your web host may independently record standard access logs.

Does it calculate CNC cycle time automatically?

No. Enter a cycle-time estimate based on your drawing, CAM simulation or measured production data. It is a budget tool for rectangular milling stock, not a CAM system.

Can I send the printable quote to a customer?

You can create a preliminary PDF using your browser's Print function. Verify assumptions, stock prices, inspection, tax, shipping, and local commercial requirements before issuing a binding offer.
